Mo Willems is an American writer, animator, and children's books author/illustrator. He was born on February 11, 1968, and was raised in New Orleans. He currently lives nearby in Northampton, Massachusetts with his wife and daughter Trixie. Mr. Willems kicked off his career as an animator and writer for Sesame Street in 1993. In 2003, he began to make a name for himself authoring and illustrating children's books. He is known for his Elephant and Piggie book series for early readers, as well as his well loved Pigeon stories. He is also the author of the award winning Knuffle Bunny books.
